W.BRO. RUPERT V. PATTERSON passed to the Grand Lodge Above on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the age of 80. Initiated into St. Andrews Lodge No. 560 in 1968, he was a Past Master of Doric Lodge No. 58 (1994-1995, 2000-2001). He affiliated with Civil Service Lodge No. 148 on March 12, 2002 and was granted honourary life-membership. He was a member of Ottawa Chapter RAM No. 222.

Born in St. Lucia, he worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a cameraman.

Rupert was a charmer. His drole sense of humour and wry wit made him an appealing mentor to all brethren, from the newest Entered Apprentice to the most Senior Past Master. Always willing to assist, he stood as a pillar of our lodge and a credit to the craft.

We will cherish his memory in our hearts forever.
